Double peak surfing: A “peak-shaped” wave, with both right and left shoulders. These waves are great since it doubles the number of rides: 2 surfers can catch the same wave
Heats:A heat consists of 2 to 4 surfers at the same time in a pre-determined competition zone. Surfers have between 20 to 30 minutes to catch the best waves possible

180 surfers will be competing for three days in back to back heats and double peak surfing to claim and English Championship title. The English National surfing championships are being held in Watergate Bay Cornwall, just 3 miles off Newquay. The championships will be taking up a whole weekend starting on Friday 6th May and ending on Sunday the 8th May. The National surfing championships are one of UK's longest running Championships and most prestigious events. The competition consists of 20 divisions including under 12s and 45+ Kahunas.
